Photos: IPOB Claims Victory As Protests Force Buhari To Shun South-East Summit In Enugu

By Philips Sunday

Enugu, (AN24) – There was heavy tension in Enugu state earlier today when members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) staged a protest in agitation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the region.

The President was to visit Enugu for an economic and security summit alongside former president Olusegun Obasanjo but later cancelled the trip without any reason given for the decision.

Though the Presidency is yet to release a statement as regards the president’s action, there are indications that the protests embarked upon by the IPOB members might have forced the President to stay away from the summit.
