On Wednesday at the opening of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
The president of China, Xi Jinping, promise to assist developing countries like Nigeria.
In his address, China is qualified to do this as it has grown her economy to world second largest economy with Gross Domestic Product increasing from 54 trillion yuan to 80 trillion yuan ($8.2tn to $12.1tn) over the past five years.
Jinping’s portrayed the achievements of the past five years since the 18th congress and the direction of the Asian giant’s growth in the next five years.
He said, “China will increase assistance to other developing countries, especially the least developed countries, and do its part to reduce the North-South development gap.
“China will support multilateral trade regimes and work to facilitate the establishment of free trade areas and build an open world economy.”
While repeating his country’s principle of not forcing its opinion on others and non-interference in their affairs, the Chinese leader said his country was following the principle of shared growth through discussion and collaboration in engaging in global governance.
He added, “China stands for democracy in international relations and the equality of all countries, big or small, strong or weak, rich or poor. China supports the United Nations in playing an active role in international affairs, and supports the efforts of other developing countries to increase their representation and strengthen their voice in international affairs.
“China will continue to play its part as a major and responsible country, take an active part in reforming and developing the global governance system, and keep contributing Chinese wisdom and strength to global governance.”
