INEC Declares Osun Governorship Election Inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared the 2018  governorship election in Osun state, Southwest Nigeria, inconclusive.

AN24 had reported earlier that INEC commenced the governorship election in the state around 8:00 am on Saturday, September 22, amidst tight security.

In our report, we stated that the election took place in all the thirty local government areas in the southwest state with forty-eight candidates vying for the number one political position in the southwest state.

Announcing the results at the INEC collation centre in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, the Returning Officer of the Commission, Professor Adeola Fuwape, said the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 254,698 votes while ruling All Progressives Party (APC) scored 254,345 votes.

Senator Ademola Adeleke is the candidate of the PDP while Gboyega Oyetola is that of the APC.
