Efe Kimono, the wife of late legendary reggae icon, Ras Kimono, has reportedly passed away.
Mrs Kimono died on Sunday morning, September 23, 2018 at her Magodo Isheri home in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city.
Confirming Efe’s death to Pulse Nigeria, the Project Manager of Premiere Music, Michael Odiong, said the sad incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday.
Odiong could, however, not confirm the cause of Efe’s death, which is coming three months and fews days after the demise of her husband.
“Yes, Efe Kimono is dead. She was confirmed dead today, early this morning. I can’t give out any other detail aside this for now.” Odiong told Pulse.
AN24 recalls that legendary raggae icon, Ras Kimono was reported to have passed away on June 10.
Kimono was finally laid to rest on Saturday, August 25, in his hometown, Onicha-Olona, in Aniocha North area of Delta state, southern Nigeria.
Kimono’s remains, contained in a Rastafarian-coloured casket, was lowered into the ground at exactly 3.20pm by Ven. Josiah Ogom of the Asaba Diocese of the Anglican Communion August 25.
The burial of the reggae icon was witnessed by a crowd of politicians, entertainers, friends and reggae lovers who stormed the town to pay their last respect to the legendary reggae singer.
