The governor of Ekiti state Ayodele Fayose has threatened to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party.
AN24 reports that Fayose’s threat is coming a day after the opposition party conducted its 2018 elective National Convention.
This online medium had reported that the opposition party held its presidential primary on Saturday in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, where former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was declared the winner of the party’s presidential primary.
Governor Fayose on Monday hinted that he would renounce his “membership of the PDP anytime from now.”
“After consultations, I will speak clearly to Nigerians,” he told Punch.
