While presenting the certificate to the Governor-Elect, the representative of INEC National Chairman, said INEC will continue to adhere to rules in organizing free, fair and credible poll.
In his remarks, the Governor-Elect, Alh Yahaya Bello said he has come to develop the state and unite its people.
He thanked the Kogi electorate for believing in him.
The Kogi State governorship election will go down in history as one of the most complicated due to the demise of Ahaji Abubakar Audu, the first candidate of the party in the first ballot.
Abubakar Audu’s death threw the State and the entire country into legal and constitutional crisis as his running mate, Mr. James Abiodun Faleke has consistently maintained that he remained the validly elected governor of Kogi, since the Audu Abubakar ticket was a joint one.
Nigerians have yet to hear the last of the crisis, as all parties have headed to court for judicial resolution.
