Mavin Record act, Korede Bello is definitely not having the best of time at the moment as his chances of sitting for his final examination at Nigerian Institute of Journalism is threatened, because he did not meet the 70% attendance requirement.
The Nigerian premier journalism school is at a cross road as regard the fate of Bello, who many believed should be treated as a special case and be allowed to write his final examination.
Trouble started when a lecturer (name witheld) declared that he will resign his teaching appointment at NIJ, should Korede Bello be allowed to sit for the final examination.
The declaration by this lecturer unsettled some other lecturers in the school, who hold the opinion that Korede Bello, who bagged his National Diploma from and has become a music star while pursuing his Higher National Diploma should be allowed to write the examination with or without 70% attendance.
AN24 gathered that Korede Bello has appealed to the management of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism to allow him complete his HND programme.
Report has it that the singer came to school and was seen begging one of the school’s notable official to prevail on the lecturer in question.
AN24 checks revealed that the Nigerian Institute of Journalim is very strict with issue of class attendance and that students must meet up 70% requirement before he is allowed to sit for examination.
Management of NIJ is yet to make its position on the matter known as at the time of filing in this report.
