Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is set to miss out on Fox News debate which will take place on Thursday 28 January 2016, according to his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
“He’s definitely not participating in the Fox News debate,” Lewandowski said. “His word is his bond.”
He furthered that the billionaire businessman would remain in Lowa as planned and would instead host an event in the state to raise money for wounded warriors and other veterans groups.
Late last night, the Fox news channel took a swipe at Trump through a satirical statement: “We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president. A nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.”
When Trump saw the press release from Fox, “I said, ‘Bye bye,'” he said.
Many feel the statement might have contributed to the business mogul decision not to attend the Thursday debate organized by the news channel.
However, Trump is scheduled to travel today, Wednesday 27, to Lexington, S.C. for a rally before returning to Iowa for Thursday night’s GOP debate in Des Moines.
