Former President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday evening returned to Nigeria after spending weeks in the United Kingdom and Cote d’Ivoire, Vanguard reports.

It was gathered that he arrived the country through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Some newspapers, not AN24 had reported that Jonathan was on self exile abroad, seeking asylum in order to avoid being arrested by President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.

In a prompt response, Jonathan cleared the air on the rumour, saying there is no other reason why he is abroad than taking a rest.
