Kogi, (AN24) – The Kogi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal today, Monday, June, 6, 2016, dismissed a petition brought before it by James Faleke, the running mate of the initial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Alhaji Abubakar Audu.
Giving reason for its judgment, the Tribunal held that Hon. James Faleke has no locus stand to file any petition against the election of Yahaya Bello as Governor of Kogi State.
It would be recalled that Mr. Faleke had approached the Tribunal seeking his declaration as the valid candidate of the party for the election and his declaration as Governor of Kogi state.
He maintained that the demise of Prince Audu on the day the results of the initial election was being announced, automatically qualifies him as the winner of the 2015 governorship election in the state.
