The President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, early hours of Monday, arrived in an Abuja High Court ahead of the commencement of their trial over alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Order.
Popularly known as the Senate Rules, the Senate Standing Order said to have been forged by Saraki, Ekweremadu and others in the bid to inaugurate the 8th Assembly last year.
This was also used for the election that produced the Principal Officers of the Assembly.
Also in court is the former Clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa, who is also standing trial alongside Saraki and Ekweremadu.
They will be arraigned any moment from now at Court 32 of the Federal High Court, Jabi in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, presided over by Justice Halilu Yusuf.
