Founder and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore has condemned President Muhammadu Buhari’s removal of Ibe Kachikwu as the General Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), adding that the act shows that the President has failed in his primary assignment.
Mr. Sowore who also berated the President’s supporters for being very ignorant of some things they defend, queried why the President seeded more than 85% of national appointments into sensitive and key offices to the north.
The Online Publisher made this statement in an article he published on the removal of Mr. Ibe Kachikwu as the General Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
According to the article, “Former GMD of NNPC Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu supporters are gung-ho about his new status, so many have claimed he was ‘promoted’ to Chair of the Board of NNPC as newly constituted by Buhari.
“Let me ask, would you consider it a promotion if you’re removed as the Principal of a School and given the role of the PTA Chairman? Ask Kachikwu!
“Ignorance and pitch blindness are our problems. Many followers of President Buhari are not only blinded to facts but also very ignorant of some things they defend….Kachikwu was relegated to a mere ceremonial post and replaced by a northerner. If you try to point this out, you are tribalistic but president Buhari who has seeded more than 85% of national appointments into sensitive and key offices to the north is a nationalist.
“I maintain that President Buhari does not posses the skills needed to govern a multi faceted entity like Nigeria. He is still lost in his military past and has not embraced the tenets of democracy.
“You cannot fool a people for too long. Sooner or later, it will be obvious even to the firmest of his supporters that we have a president who thinks a particular tribe is superior to others. This is nothing but sad!!!” Sowore bemoaned.
Meanwhile AN24 can also confirm that Mr. Sowore had questioned the President’s readiness to govern the country after his inauguration in May 2015.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Punch after the President’s inauguration, Sowore said that the All Progressives Congress and President Muhammadu Buhari were totally unprepared for the task of governance.
In his words, “I was at President Muhammadu Buhari’s inauguration in May 2015. As we left the parade ground I was shocked at the level of unpreparedness of his government. Icould tell you for sure that they all went back to bed hoping that someone else was in charge of Nigeria.
“The All Progressives Congress political party that is power is the number 4th faction of the highly fragment People’s Democratic Party.
“In a nutshell the regime is highly disorganised and reeks of incompetence. Unfortunately, they still enjoy some goodwill from Nigerians. He said.
