Abuja, (AN24)Youth and Sports Development Minister, Barrister Solomon Dalung has reacted to the unpleasant condition experienced by Nigeria’s football team, the ‘Dream Team VI’ in Atlanta Georgia, United States of America over lack of funds.

Mr. Dalung who called a press conference recently in a bid to explain the Sports Ministry’s stand on the embarrassing scenario, maintained that it is not the business of the Sports Ministry to carter of the under 23 team to Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

In his words, “Who took them there? What are there for? Because they’re U-23 and they went to US and they’re having problems, does that become our business?” he asked.

AS embarrassing as this could sound, Mr. Dalung went further by adding what can best be described as the ‘icing on the cake’ by saying the Dream Team VI are stranded in  ‘United States of Nigeria’.

The Sports Minister erroneously said, “err…our U23 team suffering in the United States of Nigeria”.

Furthermore, Nigeria are in Group B alongside Japan, Sweden and Colombia and will play Japan at 2 a.m. BST (9 p.m. ET) on Friday, Aug. 5 in Manaus.
