Abuja, (AN24) – Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and current Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, has cautioned President Muhammadu Buhari against blaming Goodluck Jonathan’s administration for the country’s current economic crisis, adding that the Buhari-led administration have made mistakes too just like the previous administration.
The Emir of Kano made this statement during a Special Session at the 15th Joint Planning Board and National Council on Development Planning, in Abuja where he was the Chairman.
Recall since the Buhari-led administration came into power in May 2015, the government has continued to blame its successor for the country’s economic challenges.
But reacting to the accusations today, Mr. Sanusi warned that the Buhari-led administration may end like the Jonathan’s administration if it continued to play the blame game.
Furthermore, he cited the inability of the government to create employment for the youths as the reason behind the resurgence of terrorism in the country.
According to him, “There is nothing we are facing today that we did not know would happen. We made mistakes, many of them deliberate. We ignored every single warning.
”We should not continue to blame the previous administration, as we have also made some mistakes in the current administration.
“We must retrace our steps; otherwise we may fall into the same trap we fell the last time when the government was always right.
“The bottom line is that if your policy is wrong, it is you that must change.” The Emir of Kano opined.
