Ondo Election: Appeal Court Sets Up New Panel To Clear PDP Guber Ticket Dispute

A new panel has been constituted to proceed on the appeals on the disputed candidacy of the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the Governorship election in Ondo State.

President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, who constituted fresh panel on Wednesday named three justices that will be led by Justice Ibrahim Salauwa of the Calabar Division of the Appeal Court.

AN24 can authoritatively confirm that three of the five pending cases have been assigned to the new panel.

This followed the Tuesday’s decision of the Justice Jummai Sankey-led panel disqualifying itself from further presiding over the cases.
Recall that the Justice Jummai Sankey led panel disqualified itself from the appeal following a petition filed by a respondent in some of the cases, Mr. Biyi Poroye, accusing the panel members and Justice Bulkachuwa of having been bribed.

In a letter addressed to the new head of the panel, Justice Bulkachuwa urged members to work out the dates of hearing in the cases assigned to them with the Presiding Justice of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal‎
