Lagos, (An24) – Nigeria international, Odion Ighalo who just completed his move from Watford to Chinese Super League outfit, Changchun Yatai revealed God’s involvement in the much talked about transfer deal.

Ighalo claims that God told him to reject the big money he was being offered from the Far East two years ago.

The former Watford striker was offered £300,000-a-week from Hebei China Fortune, before God spoke with him.

“I was very close,” he told The Daily Mail.

“They made a £10million bid and were offering me over £300,000 a week; a four-year contract.

“I couldn’t sleep for three days. That kind of money is not easy to turn down. Some team-mates in the dressing room were saying ‘You can’t miss this chance’. But I don’t jump into decisions like that.

“I prayed about it and God said it was not for me, no matter how much money it was. I knew God would direct me.

“When I said I don’t want to go, they offered me more money, almost £300,000 a week. I told them it’s not about the money.” He added.

After completing the move to Changchun Yatai, Ighalo penned a heartfelt letter to the Hornets faithful after completing his switch to the Far East.

“A special thanks to Watford fans, who I really hold dearly in my heart because they supported me since the very first day I came to this club to the last day,” Ighalo told Sky Sports.

“Even when things weren’t going well for me, they were still there chanting my name beside me. Though things don’t always go the way you want in life, you have to keep moving and working hard.”
