BREAKING: Court Orders Forfeiture Of Diezani’s $153m To FG

Lagos, (An24) – A Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday, February 16, ordered the permanent forfeiture of the sum of $153m, which was said to have been diverted from the coffers of the Nigerian National‎ Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court ordered the forfeit of $153m by the the erstwhile Minister to the Federal Government.

Recall that the court had on Friday, January 6, 2017 ordered temporary forfeit of the sum to the FG.

Out of the allegedly stolen $153.3 million, a sum of N23,446,300,000 (after convertion to Naira) was kept in Sterling Bank Plc, and another converted sum of N9,080,000,000 in First Bank and $5 million in Access Bank Plc.
