Abuja, (AN24) – The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) on Thursday, March 2, released the National Commandant of the National Peace Corps, Amb. Dickson Akoh, and several of his colleagues.

Recall that Mr. Akoh was arrested on Tuesday after men of the Police Force in conjunction with the Department of State Services, (DSS) raided the National Headquarters of the National Peace Corps in Jabi, Abuja.

The raid came shortly after officers and men of the Peace Corps had rounded off celebrations for the official opening of their new National Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

Giving reason for the raid, the Nigerian Police in a statement signed by its spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, said intelligence reports indicated that the Peace Corps and other similar groups “were acquiring weapons and conducting covert military training in different locations across the country.”
