London, (AN24) – Premier League Champions, Leicester City has appointed caretaker manager, Craig Shakespeare as the club manager until the end of the season.

Shakespeare took over the post on interim basis at the club after Claudio Ranieri was sacked in February — less than a year after the Italian manager guided the Foxes to a surprise Premier League title.

As caretaker coach, Shakespeare’s first two games in charge produced wins over both Liverpool and Hull as the Premier league champions moved three points clear of the relegation zone.

Confirming the appointment, an official statement from the club reads: “Leicester City Football Club is pleased to confirm Craig Shakespeare as its first-team manager for the rest of the 2016/17 season,” said a club statement.
