Benin, (An24) – The Edo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal will on Friday, April 14, deliver judgment in a petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Recall that he three-man Tribunal led by Justice Ahmed Badamasi had on Wednesday confirmed that it will deliver judgement on Friday (Today).
Ize-Iyamu challenged Obaseki’s declaration as the winner of the Edo governorship election in 2016.
The tribunal began hearing the case on January 7, 2017 and ended hearing on April 3, 2017 after final addresses by the counsels to the parties.
The first petitioner Osagie Ize Iyamu, and the first respondent Godwin Obaseki as well as the counsel to INEC, are currently absent at the tribunal.
The petitioners are challenging the results in 16 out of the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
