Man Shoots Tanker Operator Dead For Blocking His Path In Ogun

Abeokuta, (An24) – There was pandemonium in the Sam Ewang Estate, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital as a young tanker operator was shot dead by a gunman at a car wash centre in the state.

According to report, the gunman was angry that the tanker the deceased was working on blocked his path.

Witnesses said the gunman brought his Sienna car to the car wash, and on completion of the wash, approached the man to look for the truck driver to remove the fuel tanker from where it was parked.

The trailer belonging to NIPCO, was also brought to the car wash centre for washing, and parked opposite the centre, awaiting when there would be a parking space.

The‎ trailer driver was said to have taken a stroll within the vicinity, when the incident happened.

The suspect was said to have pulled out a gun and shot the him at close range resulting in instant death, before escaping with his car.

Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the command was going to commence forensic investigation into the murder.

“It is true, the Commissioner of Police has ordered that forensic investigation be carried out. He has also directed that homicide section of the state investigation and intelligence department should take over the case for proper investigation with the view of bringing the culprit to justice,” Mr. Oyeyemi stated.

The lifeless body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
