Abuja, (An24) – The presidency through the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Sunday, May 14, denied reports that Presidemt Muhammadu Buhari had died in the United Kingdom.

Shehu in series of tweets on his official Twitter handle said there was no truth in the rumour circulating on social media.

The presidential spokesman urged Nigerians to discard the reports because nothing unpleasant had happened to the President.

Shehu wrote, “Baseless rumours are trending again that an unpleasant thing has happened to our beloved President, Muhammadu Buhari.

‘If you have received this information on WhatsApp or Facebook, disregard it because it is plain lies spread by vested interests to create panic

“Nothing unpleasant has happened to the President. No cause for apprehension. Thanks for the many calls” he added.

President Muhammadu Buhari departed the country to the United Kingdom on Sunday, May 7, on medical vacation.

He flew to the UK shortly after receiving the released 82 Chibok schoolgirls at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
