Ado-Ekiti- Ekiti State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the appointment of two new commissioners nominated and forwarded to it by Governor Ayodele Fayose.
The House also reconfirmed 12 others who were affected by the July dissolution of the State Executive Council.
The two new commissioners are Chief Tunde Ogunleye and Mr Ayodeji Alabi. Ogunleye was designated as Commissioner for Water Resources, while Alabi was designated as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Eleven of the 12 commissioners reconfirmed were returned to their duty posts, while Barrister Kolapo Kolade, erstwhile Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Commissioner, was appointed as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
Leader of Government Business, Hon Akinyele Olatunji, who introduced the commissioners-designate, called for a speedy confirmation of the nominees in the interest of good governance in the state.
The Speaker, Hon. Kola Oluwawole, congratulated the commissioners and charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by positively impacting on the development of the state through their various ministries and keying into the governor’s vision.
