National telecommunications Operator, Globacom, has pledged to continue to support initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of corporate leadership in Nigeria.
Explaining why it decided to partner the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) in organising a capacity-building forum for human resource professionals in the country recently, the company said it was its way of contributing to entrenchment of good leadership culture in Nigeria’s corporate world.
Globacom said in a press statement in Lagos that, “Nigeria is blessed with diverse human resources, bursting with amazing talent, boundless energy and incredible passion. Forums such as this one put together by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management are immensely useful in optimising efficiency in the workplace”.
At the conference held in Lagos, leading human resource experts, including John Mattone, one of the world’s most celebrated executive coaches, made presentations to the audience on issues affecting the HR sector and proffered solutions to them.
The event which was held at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, had the theme, “Talent and Intelligent Leadership: Roadmap to unleashing greatness in your current and future leaders”, and attracted participants from different sectors of the economy including telecommunications, oil and gas, banking and media.
Vice President of CIPM, Wale Adediran, who represented the President of the Council, said the 10th Special Human Resource Forum was organised in accordance with the institute’s mission to promote excellence in the acquisition and use of knowledge and skills by personnel management practitioners.
He thanked Globacom and other sponsors for partnering with the institute to ensure a successful conference.
