Confusion In Ado-Ekiti As Anti-Riot Police Allegedly Tear-Gas Fayose+Photos

There was confusion in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State on Wednesday as Governor Ayodele Fayose falls on the ground after claiming that he was tear-gassed by anti-riot policemen.

In a swift reaction, the policemen quickly told newsmen that the Governor is acting a script.

“Fayose is only acting a script. Who tear-gassed him? How come those around him were not affected?” Police officer on sight said.

Our correspondent reports that the security operatives applied tear-gas to disperse some people believed to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), causing a mild confusion in Fajuyi area of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were set to hold what they described as pre-victory party procession before the heavily armed security operatives descended on them.

A security source however told AN24 correspondent that those tear-gassed are some Niger Delta militants “imported to Ekiti to cause crisis in Saturday’s governorship election”.

The governor was seen on the ground surrounded by some of his aides. The governor was later taken to the Government House Clinic.

Armed policemen are still at the Fajuyi area as at the time of this report.
