Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed is meeting people’s need through the programmes/policies initiated by his administration.
The Senior Special Assistant to Kwara State Governor, Dr. Muideen Akorede while fielding questions from newsmen in Ilorin on Saturday said majority of programmes Governor Ahmed is currently executing are based on people’s need collated during governor’s re-election campaigns.
He noted that Governor Ahmed during his campaign tour to all the towns and villages carefully records and develop complaints of the citizenry into NEEDS assessment.
He added that the state government is therefore attending to various needs of the people based on available resources.
“Everything His Excellency, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed is doing now are based on NEEDS assessment collated in build to 2015 general elections. Governor Ahmed during his re-election campaign assigned one of his aides to collate all issues the raised by residents of different towns and villages.
“Therefore, majority of the projects this administration is doing are geared towards meeting the needs of the people. For instance, Operation No Poles is addressing issue of bad roads while empowerment programme for youths has reduced unemployment. The road projects in the rural areas will help farmers to take their farm produces to market without stress”. Akorede explained.
He assured residents of state that the governor will continue to implement people oriented programmes until his last day in office.
The governor’s spokesman disclosed that about 2000 youths will be engaged under Kwara Youth Empowerment Programme (KWAYEP) in August.
