The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the body will redesign setting of polling units during September 22, 2018 governorship election in Osun state to avoid vote buying.
The INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Committee on Information and Voter Education, Adedeji Soyebi stated this on Monday in a chat with newsmen in Abuja.
Soyebi said the electoral body will arrange every polling unit to discourage vote buying and the ‘see and buy strategy‘ to induce voters by political parties.
He disclosed that INEC will publish names of vote buying perpetrators and prosecute them in line with relevant law in the country.
He advised electorates not to sell their vote during election.
Soyebi reiterated that INEC will conduct free, fair and credible election in Osun state.
