The primary election of many political parties were concluded over the weekend in line with the directive of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
While many parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) conducted primaries to elect a candidate for the Presidential election next year, others adopted a concensus candidate.
According to INEC, the first phase in the journey to the highest office in the country, will commence next month with party campaigns.
Africa News 24 reports that President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, are the most popular candidates in the 2019 presidential race.
