Atiku Abubakar, a presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 elections, is in a closed-door meeting with Peter Obi in Abuja.
The former Anambra governor arrived at Abubakar’s residence in Asokoro neighbourhood around 3:00 p.m.
Africa News 24 reports that the meeting is coming amidst reports of the former governor emerging as Abubakar’s running mate in the elections.
The Waziri Adamawa became the presidential candidate of PDP on Sunday, October 7, 2018.
At the time of this report, it was unclear whether the visit of Obi was in connection to the search for a running mate.
The former vice president was endorsed by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo for Nigeria’s highest office next year.
