The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has launched air strikes on a hideout purportedly being used by bandits in Tsamari, Birnin Magaji local government area of Zamfara state, northern Nigeria.
Air Force spokesman, Ibikunle Daramola, who disclosed this on Sunday, December 30, said the air task force (ATF) confirmed the presence of bandits armed with high calibre weapons at the location.
Africa News 24 reports that bandits have been on the loose in the north-west state despite the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government and security agencies to check their activities.
On Saturday, December 29, suspected bandits killed an unspecified number of soldiers at a forest in Doburu, Zurmi local government area of Zamfara state.
It was learned that those that carried out the attack on the Nigerian soldiers were well armed.
Giving an update on the steps the air foce has taken, Daramola tweeted a video of the destruction of the gang base as seen below.
