Imohimi Edgal, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, has been redeployed by the police authorities.

Africa News 24 gathered that Edgal was redeployed to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Edgal will take over as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Explosive Ordinance Unit while Kayode Egbetokun was directed by the police authorities to take over from Edgal as Acting Police Commissioner in the southwest state.

Edgal assumed office as Lagos CP on August 31, 2017, replacing Fatai, who was then commissioner in the state.

Before then, he was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Lagos State.

Edgal’s promotion in 2017 came after he led the operation that led to the stoppage of the activities of the dreaded Badoo cult in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.

The operation also led to the arrest of the Baale of Ipakodo in Ikorodu following the gruesome murder of four family members at Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Lagos.
