The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed that it could approach the election petirion tribunal to challenge the outcome of the gubernatorial poll in the state.

Ahmadu Fintiri, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated incumbent governor Mohammed Jibrilla at the poll.

The party said that it can still challenge the outcome of the poll despite Jibrilla’s congratulatory message to Fintiri.

This, according to Sunday PUNCH, was conveyed by the Secretary of the APC in the state, Wafarninyi Theman.

“He was our governorship candidate and the outcome of that election belongs to all of us – the candidate and the party. He told the party that he was accepting defeat for the sake of the peace and progress of the state because he had no personal issue with the governor-elect,”
Theman was quoted to have said.

“He said he did not have the intention of going to the tribunal to challenge his loss. However, the governor said by congratulating the governor-elect, I didn’t mean he had closed our chances of going to tribunal completely.

“When you discover that there are some burning issues as we have here, congratulating the governor-elect does not mean the case is closed.”

Theman also cautioned the incoming PDP administration to stop claiming that the outgoing administration was leaving a debt profile of N150bn.
