Five police officers have been detained for allegedly killing a 20-year-old woman, Ada Ifeanyi at Ajegunle in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The victim and her lover, one 32-year-old Emmanuel Akomafuwa, were both shot by the police. While Ada died on the spot, Akomafuwa was rushed to the hospital where he’s currently receiving treatment.

Ada’s death triggered reactions from social media users, who took turns to condemn the Nigeria police.

Lagos State Police Command has arrested and detained five police officers involved in the act.

As the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), releases the photograph of the officers, many took to the social media to demand justice for the slain woman.

The officers, they said, should be tried as quickly as possible and be made to face a similar fate.

This, some said, would deter others.
