1. Governor El-Rufai Sacks All Political Appointees In Kaduna

The governor of Kaduna state, northern Nigeria, Nasir El-Rufai, has directed all political appointees to submit their letters of resignation on or before April 30, 2019. Africa News24 (AN24) reports that the governor sacked his appointees in a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesman, Samuel Aruwan.

Some buildings within the premises of AIT in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, have been demolished by officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration. 4. Student Sentenced To Jail For Stealing MFM Microphone

Hamisu Abubakar, a student has been sentenced to jail by an upper Area Court I, sitting in Kasuwan Nama, Jos, to two years in prison. The convict was said to have stolen a wireless microphone from a Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church. The Judge, Lawal Suleiman, who sentenced Abubakar, 20, gave him an option to a pay a fine of N20,000 for stealing and one-year imprisonment for trespass with an option of N10,000 fine.

Shehu Sani, senator representing Kaduna Central at the hallowed chamber, has faulted the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hire A.U. Mustapha as its counsel at the state election petitions tribunal. According to Sani, Mustapha was a lawyer of the state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai. He said this at a press conference in his residence in Kaduna on Monday.

7. EFCC Apprehends Ofili-Ajumogobia After Dismissal

There was mild drama at the premises of an Ikeja High Court as officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, a dismissed judge of the Federal High Court after corruption charges against her was struck out. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that about 10 officials of the EFCC surrounded Ofili-Ajumogobia as she attempted to leave the courtroom at 10.24 a.m. after the ruling by Justice Hakeem Oshodi.
