The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has revealed facts nullifying accusation by the All Progressives Congress that he is not a Nigerian and was not qualified to seek to occupy the office of the President according to the 1999 constitution. The PDP candidate had gone to court to challenge the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari, his APC rival at the poll.
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, has faulted the Senate President, Bukola Saraki; and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, of allegedly hijacking and padding national budgets for the four years that the party had been in power. Africa News24 reports Tinubu made the allegations through his media officer, Mr. Tunde Rahman on Sunday while clearing the air about him manipulating NASS for 2023 presidency.
Senate President Bukola Saraki has challenged Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to provide proofs of how the leadership of the national assembly padded budgets. Saraki said this in a statement issued by Yusuph Olaniyonu, his spokesperson, on Monday. He was reacting to Tinubu’s claim that budgets were hijacked under him (Saraki) and Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives.
The Acting Director Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa, has confirmed the killing of six bandits in Zamfara and arrest of 18 informants Monday. Africa News24 reports that Musa said that the operations in which the bandits were neutralized took place on Saturday in Kirsa and Sunke villages in Anka Local Government Area as well as in Doka and Mutu villages in Gusau Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has described Achike Udenwa the worst governor Imo State ever produced, challenged Udenwa to publish his achievements in the eight years he served as governor for Imo people to compare notes. Okorocha said apart from paying special attention to gossips and frivolities, Udenwa scuttled the political dreams of many young men who served under him.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has insisted that it does not need the support of lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its preferred candidates to emerge as the leaders of the incoming ninth National Assembly. Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC National Publicity Secretary, re-stated the party’s position in an interview on Saturday.
