INEC Withdraws Ekiti Apc Reps-Elect’s Certificate Of Return See

The Cross River Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr Frankland Briyai on Thursday resigned his appointment with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to join the Bayelsa governorship race.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has withdrawn the Certificate of Return issued to the All Progressives Congress candidate, APC, Barr Peter Owolabi and presented a fresh certificate of return to Hon Kehinde Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP as member-elect Federal Constituency.

Peter Owolabi (APC, Ekiti State) represents Ikole/Oye Federal Constituency (Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1) lost his seat to Kehinde Agboola of PDP following a court order.

Agboola got his certificate of return Monday in Abuja from the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Africa News24 (AN24) gathered that some APC House of Representatives aspirants had challenged the primary election at the high court, they prayed before the court to declare the ‘Kangaroo’ primary null and void.

The court ruled that the Ekiti APC did not duly hold a primary election in accordance with the law and was not entitled to participate in the Feb 23 general election, the court therefore ruled that PDP and its candidate got the highest lawful votes and ordered INEC to present certificate of return to Agboola as the duly and lawful elected MHR

In compliance with the court judgement, INEC issued certificate to PDP candidate MHR Kehinde Agboola yesterday at the commission’s headquarter, Abuja
