One person was confirmed dead while two others were severely injured after a motor accident along the busy Onitsha-Enugu expressway in Awka, the Anambra state capital.
Africa News24 (AN24) understands that the accident occurred around the State Government House on Monday afternoon.
The accident involved a white coloured Honda Odessey car with three persons on board.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the other injured occupants were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.
He said the driver of the vehicle was on high speed when he suddenly skidded off the road and crashed into the side drainage.
While confirming the crash, blamed the crash on over speeding.
Confirmation the accident is the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Mr Andrew Kumapayi who disclosed that the crash involved two males and one female in a white coloured Honda Odessey with registration number, AWK 716 DU.
Mr Andrew said “Two males and one female were in the white coloured car, Honda Odessey with registration number, AWK 716 DU.
“But only one person, a male was confirmed dead.”
