Suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly attacked Obokofia, in Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo state, southeast Nigeria.

A report by Vanguard newspaper on Wednesday quoted a source to have said that the community had asked the herdsmen to stop grazing on their farmlands and that their cattle are destroying their crops.

Africa News24 learned the herdsmen started shooting sporadically in a bid to scare away members of the community from forcing them out of the area.

At the time of filing this report, no life was lost, but farmers working in the area at the time the incident happened ran away for safety.
