Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi on Friday met behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting which lasted for about forty-five minutes was held at Vice President Osinbajo’s office in the State House.

Africa News24 (AN24) recalls that Oba Adeyeye had on Thursday paid a similar visit to President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.

Ooni stated that he was at the villa to speak on behalf of the South-West monarchs, adding that all traditional leaders and security agencies have to work together to tackle insecurity in the region.

He added that some strange people are now living in the bushes in the south-west region and they have to be brought out.

“Before I came here I discussed with the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who has been there for close to 50 years and we cannot tear away such a very massive experience in terms of knowing the structure of Nigeria. And also by virtue of that Alaafin is in constant touch with Awujale and very much we are all on the same page,’’ he said.

“So, I’m here and I had a discussion that is very fruitful with Mr President about what we all know – the security situation in the country. We made him know that the issue at hand in the south-west is real – the issue of insecurity.”
