Lagos Vows To Go Tough On Land Grabbers

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday declared that his administration was ready to partner with United Arab Emirates on security, helath, education and culture.

Governor Sanwo-Olu made the statement at Lagos House, when he played host to the Consul General of the United Arab Emirates, Dr Abdulla Al Mandoos in his office.

” We are indeed happy and let me tell you that Lagos is indeed happy and ready to collaborate with you and we are hoping that within your tenure, we shall further deepen the relationship within the two countries”,_he said.

He further opined that Lagos as a global state was ready to collaborate with UAE in the area of traffic control particularly,_comparing the population of UAE and Lagos.

” We shall be willing to collaborate with UAE in the area of traffic control and traffic management especially, due to the comparison of the two States in the area of population and traffic management. We have a decent population in UAE and we are hoping that we can further this with your tenure as Consul General”, Sanwo-Olu said.

Sanwo-Olu said efforts is in progress to create an atmosphere for investors to look towards the direction of the state and for existing businesses to thrive.
He assured the investors of his administration’s support in the areas they intend to partner with the government.

Responding, Dr. Abdulla said his visit was aimed at getting cooperation and support from the new Lagos Governor.

“It’s my pleasure to meet the governor of Lagos state and we hope in future wise to see how we can cooperate together for a good future between both country”

“We are looking at supporting in various kind of ways such as Education, health. Security, most especially the stability of the country, because we have a believe the stability of Nigeria will be our stability and that of the world”, he said

Dr Abdulla Al Mandoos further stated that UAE hopes to also cooperate cultural wise, asked the government to provide a land for them
