Shiites Leader El-Zakzaky, Wife Arrive India For Medical Treatment

The India hospital treating the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky have agreed to treat the Nigerian Shiites leader with known and appointed doctors.

Shiites leader in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, have arrived Delhi, India for medical treatment.

The couple left Nigeria on Monday for treatment in India after they have been in prison for some years.

The Islamic Movement In Nigeria (IMN) leader and his wife, were received by medical doctors and wheeled into the hospital.

According to the spokesperson of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife made a stopover at Dubai International Airport this early on Tuesday morning at about 4:00 am.

Africa News24 (AN24) recalls that El-Zakzaky and his wife have been in the detention of the Nigeria government since 2015.

El-Zakzky is facing an eight-count of culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, and disturbance of public peace.

Although a state high court ordered their release in 2015, the government kept the Shiites leader in detention because he is ‘a threat to national security’.
