APC Fixes New Date For Bayelsa Primaries (See Why)

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday moved its governorship primaries in Bayelsa State to August 31, 2019.

Africa News24 (an24)  reports that the primaries was originally scheduled for August 29.

The change in date was made known in a letter to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu.

The letter was signed by the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole and acting National Secretary, Victor Giadom.

The APC stated that the postponement was caused by planning and logistic reasons.

The party, however, apologized for inconveniences the development could cause the commission.

“We wish to advise that due to planning and logistic reasons, we have rescheduled the conduct of our primary election in respect of the Bayelsa State Governorship election to now hold on Saturday, 31st August 2019.

“While apologising for any inconveniences in your arrangements, please accept the assurances of our highest regards,” the letter read.
