Representatives of the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele were on Monday not allowed by the Senate Committee on Finance to address it with regard to the issue of exchange rates for funding key projects.
AN24 understands that the Committee which is chaired by Solomon Adeola rejected the CBN team led by the Deputy Governor of CBN, Adebisi Shonubi as it insisted the person invited for the hearing was Emefiele and not anyone else.
The Committee said the CBN boss should have earlier informed it that he would be represented at the hearing. The Committee then decided that Emefiele must appear before it on Thursday.
The CBN governor was therefore asked to appear before the panel again on Thursday.
