It's no longer a mirage for any nation that seeks to be industrialized to have a formidable road network as a priority on its national agenda. Findings have shown over the years that there is a corresponding synergy between formidable road network and industrialization.

The Lagos State Government has appealed to commuters to cooperate with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officers in the wake of Lagos-Badagry Expressway shut down.

Special Adviser, to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Works and Infrastructure, Mrs. Aramide Adeyoye said that the diversion was to enable the contractors’ launch beams at the Alakija Interchange Bridge.

In a statement signed by Mr. Adesegun Ogundeji, Deputy Director, and Public Affairs of the ministry, Adeyoye appealed to motorists and road users on the axis to bear with the government.

“The measure was appropriate for speedy completion and delivery of the road. Motorists coming from Agboju to Trade fair should use alternative routes before the Alakija flyover into the service lane.

“Palliative works have been carried out on the bad sections of the road such as the intersections into the service lane before Alakija flyover, the junction between the access road into FESTAC at the 3rd gate and the intersection after the Alakija interchange into the main carriage lane from the service lane.

“The repair was to effectively manage traffic and reduce the impact of the diversion on road users,” she said.
