The Supreme Court on Monday affirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari is eligible and highly qualified to contest for the February 23 presidential election.
The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate’s lawyers challenging the President’s victory were unavailable for the proceedings that was presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad.
AN24 news learnt that the full judgment delivered on Friday was to provide explanations for the apex court summary decision of October 30 which dismissed the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar challenging the victory of Buhari at the February 23 presidential poll.
It was gathered that none of the about 20 Senior Advocates, 30 juniors were available at the court.
The court also affirmed that the President never submitted any false information about his educational qualification to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The apex court also added that the appellant did not provide enough proves to show that www.factsdontlie.ng was owned by the independent electoral body neither do they show its an affiliation of the body.
