N400m Fraud: Olisa Metuh To Know Fate Feb. 2020
Former Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh will on February 25, 2020 know whether he will be pronounced guilty over his alleged N400 million money laundering charges.
The Federal High Court presided over by Justice Okon Abang scheduled the judgement for that day after the prosecution and defence lawyers made their closing arguments .
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is accusing Metuh and his company, Destra Investment Limite of money laundering. The agency alleges that they both fraudulently took N400m as part of their involvement in the alleged criminal activities the former National Security Adviser.
Metuh also allegedly transacted a cash of $2m without going through a financial institution, thus violating the provision of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act.
