A former Aviation Minister and vocal critic of the APC-led Government, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said he will support the “Prohibition of Hate Speech” Bill if its first victims are President Muhammadu Buhari, National Leader of the All Progressives C ongress, Bola Tinubu , Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, among others.
The Bill sponsored by Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi of the ruling All Progressives Congress, covers a handful of possible wrongdoings which include publications capable of stirring ethnic hatred.
Taking to his Twitter handle @realFFK on Monday, Fani Kayode said he would only support the bill if it’s first victims are President Muhammadu Buhari, APC leader, Bola Tinubu, Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed and others he named.
His Tweet read: “I will support the Hate Speech Bill if its provisions are made retroactive & if its first victims are Buhari, Bola Tinubu, Lai Mohammed, Nasir El Rufai, Festus Keyamo & Rotimi Amaechi. Promise to hang them first for their hateful words over the years and the Bill gets my support.”
