It was a smug night in Manchester for former Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, and his Tottenham charges as they were beaten 2-1 courtesy of a Rashford-inspired display.

The new Tottenham gaffer had been enjoying a great start to life in London, winning three games on the bounce with greater attacking impetus which had been lacking in the Tottenham team this season.

Defensive lapses allowed Rashford open the scoring, before Dele Alli pegged them back with a deftly executed finish. The encounter looked drab from then on, until a Rashford penalty secured all three points.

In other results, The Merseyside derby saw Liverpool and Everton play out a 6-goal first half thriller as Liverpool ran out 4-2 winners at Anfield. Man of the match and African Player of the year contender, Mane had a hand in three of the goals.

Lampard and his Chelsea youngsters claimed a popular victory over Aston Villa, Jamie Party continued as Leicester relied on his brace to overcome Watford.
