The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), and management of University of Port Harcourt are locked in a battle of conflicting interests as the union is set to withhold results of students in the University.
The decision was made known by ASUU Chairman, Uniport Branch, Dr Austen Sado, who cited the University’s sacking of a lecturer, Prof. Frank Ugiomoh, as reason for the decision.
ASUU had earlier passed a resolution giving the University seven days to reverse the decision which Austen termed as unjust.
It is demanding fair trial for Prof. Frank, after which it says it would accept whatever judgement passed on him.
The sacking by the University, is believed to have been as a result of the court case between the lecturer and the governing Council.
