President Muhammadu Buhari removed Muiz Banire from being Chairman of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), Muiz Banire.
He has consequently replaced him with Edward Lametek Adamu.
The nomination of Adamu was contained in a letter written to the Senate President by President Buhari and dated December 9, 2019.
”In accordance with the Section 10(1) of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria, I hereby present Edward Lametek Adamu for confirmation as the Chairman of the Assets Management Company of Nigeria by the Distinguished Senate.
”While hoping that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the Senate, please accept, Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest consideration,” the letter read.
